View Full Version : Upload folder structure

Hello,

I've installed Sveta Portable Audio a few days ago so in one step I can upload my mp3's on my portable mp3 player (I-Bead) and directly convert to a lower bitrate. Resulting in more mp3's on my I-Bead :).

Next to Sveta Portable Audio, I also installed the dMC File Selector and the Generic Removable Device Driver because there was no driver for the I-Bead. I've added a device called the I-Bead and made the right settings. When I would like to upload something, I choose for the added device and I must say....it works fantastic!!!!

There's only one 'problem'. When I upload folders with mp3's with the dMC File Selector to the I-Bead I would like to see the folders also on the I-Bead. This is not the case....all the files are grouped together on the I-Bead (without the folder structure).

How can I solve this problem without creating the folders manually on the I-Bead. So when I upload the folders 'Down By Law', 'Better Then A Thousand' and 'Bad Religion' to the I-Bead I would like to see these folders appear on the I-Bead instead of the mp3's grouped together.

Thank you for your help!

Greetings,

It is a problem I am actively talking right this second you will be glad to hear, I am trying to achive something where it is possible to have a no brainer approach to Sveta, ie it handles all audio files, but Sveta Explorer gives the ability to sort audio (by genre, etc), but to also allow such advanced things with folders.

Thank you for your reply Spoon! I'm looking forward to use that solution!

BTW, how do other users solve this problem.....? For example when you upload a folder called 'Artist 1 - Album 1' and a folder called 'Artist 2 - Album 2' you also want to see those two folders on your portable player. In the current situation the mp3's of the two folders are grouped together in the root.

There will be options added to each sveta driver for a file naming on the portable, so if the player supports folders then it could be:

[artist]\[artist] - [track]

for example (rather than using the original folder on the pc, use the ID tags).

Hello Spoon,

Once again...thank you for your reply and this beautifull solution.

BTW, what do you mean with "for example (rather than using the original folder on the pc, use the ID tags)". Is this possible now or in the new solution. If it's possible now how can I do it?

Thanks and grtz,
Henry

It is part of what I am writing now, currently it cannot do it.

This sounds great. I have an I-Bead 100 and look forward to this feature, and dedicated driver. BTW, would a dedicated driver give any advantages over the generic one?

No real advantages.
