how can I convert cd's to 48k wave files?

You can do it by right-clicking on the Wave file and selecting the destination format as Wave and when in the encoding options, set the frequency to 48Khz. This is very pointless though, you would be upsampling a Wave which was originally 44Khz and would not gain any extra quality in the process, only the file size.
