Hi!

I just downloaded and started using Sveta and it looks like the thing to use to download to my Rio500.

However, it doesn't look like it is as seemless as I would like. Perhaps I am missing something here.

All of my files are in WMA format. I know that the Rio500 doesn't support WMA so I'm stuck transcoding. (Oh well...) Ideally I'd like to be able to queue up a lot of WMA files to move to the Rio, specify the MP3 encoding options and just say "go!".

It looks like the Sveta explorer (what I get from clicking on the Rio500 icon on the desktop) is the way to go but when I transfer a WMA file that way it just copies it over as is -- I can't find a way to have it encode to MP3.

Also, as soon as I select one file to move over the UI locks up so that I can't choose more -- I have to choose, wait, choose, wait, etc. I would ctrl-select but my files are in multiple directories and so that doesn't work that well.

Ideas?

Thanks!

Joe

Treat it just like a normal conversion. Open up windows explorer, right-click on the WMA files>>Convert to>>Diamond Rio 500

There you will find your options and all the goodies you could hope for.

Tip: You can set up a playlist for those WMA files then only right-click on that and have your files sent in order with only needing to select one file in explorer.

Thanks MODatic!

I guess this turns into a feature request then. Here is what would be cool for me:

1) Svetla explorer also supported transcoding during the move.
2) The explorer converted/moved files over in the background so that you could start one moving and then move onto another.

Perhaps a super simple playlist editor that could estimate transcoded size so you'd know when the device would be full?

Thanks!

(In the meantime, Svetla is still the only think that I've found that can transcode and download to the Rio500 in one step while keeping meta data -- ID3 tags -- around. Keep up the good work!)
