no sveta potable audio

when i down load i get the power amp and the cd burner on my destk top but no sveta potable audio .i cant even find it . what am i doing wrong

Hi old_john,

Please when you post a question, only post to the applicable forum, not to two others as well. :)

After SPA installs, you should get an add device dialogue, once you add your device and select an icon, that icon will be placed on your desktop, if not, look through your start menu.

and the cd burner

ok ill do that. well here is what is happening to me when the sveta prtable audio device pops up theres nothing in the installed portable device window. i hit the advanced button and in the installed driver device windows my rio 500 shows up. i hit ok and it goes back to the sveta portable device add on with nothing in the window. so then i hit add device button. so this takes me to available dvice window with nothing in it. so i hit the using icon select button and my dimond rio 500 is in there so i highlite it and it goes to open which i hit and then it goes back to the previous window with the using icon select button with nothing in the windows to select thus i am getting no place just going around in circles. i looked in my start up menus i have the db power amp and the dmc audi c d imput and when i comes to the sveta portable audio , it is found in the configure and when i hit this the add on device comes up and here i go again. please help old_john oh yea the cd burner i mean to say the audio cd imput
i reinsalled again i just cant get the player on my screen

Hi, I'm having the exact same problem on my computer. I am running win 98 and a rio 800.

I have in installled SPA, and the WDM device driver along with that, but when I go to add device, the selection screen is completely empty.

If I click on Advanced, I see the WDM driver, but I can't do anything with it. On the installed drivers screen, once again it is completely empty.

There is nothing like 'SPA' on my desktop, only the audio player and converter.

Please help... I am so excited about uninstalling the crappy RealJukebox program!

well hesave ive been waiting for a reply in the mean time there is another player at http://www.drilsej.com/rio.html that works rather well. but i really would like to get this going . surley were not the only ones with this problem. somebody should know this fix.

I know some of these are simple but please bear with me as they are easy to forget:

Make sure your device is plugged into your computer and switched on when you run add device. If it is a Rio 600 or 800 you are installing, make sure you have the RioPort drivers installed. If it is a Rio 500 you are installing, (I have one :)) make sure you install the separate Rio 500 driver that Spoon has written from the SPA download page.

I find the Rio 500 injects a clock harmonic at 9,452 Hz. This is totally independant of any music playing and would appear to be an artifact of the risc-pcm dac bus within the rio itself. Now generally most folk can not hear this high pitched whistle so it does not matter, but if you can it is NOT a fault of dbpa.

well i pluged in my rio 500 with the add on and the rio was on, same old thing.ive installed the diver for the rio 500 but these things i have already tryied.i just uninstalled and reinsalled for the 5 th time, same old same old. what is going on? is there anybody had this problem before. i did get an error saying

i asume i got this when i downloaded the drivers first . but really dont know . i did try down loading the driver before and after downloading sveta audio with my player on again same thing that i posted in my previous post happens.hmmmmm

Actually I have found out from Diamond that Rio software issue 3.42.11b will not operate in the manner you decribe. I suggest a download of the firmware from the Rio web site.

well i have down loaded all the firm ware upgrades but this Rio software issue 3.42.11b issue what is that ? im not sure i understand what youre talking about. could you explane a little more. hope i can get help soon it looking pretty bleak for old_john

OldJohn: Try making sure your Rio 500 is the only device plugged into the USB (directly into the computer) - also try the other USB connection.

i tried what you sugjested spoon and either way it still dosent recognize my rio 500 im using windows 98 cant understand why it dosent recognize my rio. thanks for trying to help old_john

you know i dont know if my device manager sees my rio .when i look in the sveta folder in the icon foler the rio picture is there. in the device folder the rio driver is there. do i manually have to put the driver some where and if so where. i also looked in the device manager it did read the rio 500 it said RioPortort.com rio500,just a thought please help old_john

If the Rio 500 icon is in the folder then everything is installed correctly.

thanks spoon for trying but old_john isnt giving up.in my usb dvice manager it says rio port .com rio500. could the driver from this is not being over writen by yours?. i also had problem with my rio 500 not down loading at 128 so i put file version is 2,0,3,1 in window system folder it fixed the problem but could it interfere with your driver? please help old_john

None of these would interfere with my driver, the rio port.com driver is required.

ok but if music macth , rio port sees my rio threw the rio usb dvice manager , why cant it not see sveta ? it makes me wonder that i must manualy change a driver.

I think I know what is wrong, although I am not sure how to fix it - I ask Windows, where is the Rio 500 plugged in today? windows replies - on this port, I try that port but it is not finding it. So it could be worth while trying the different USB ports on your computer. Also after a failed connection attempt, have a look in C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dbpoweramp

there is a file there called sveta-log.txt, please post the contents of that file here.

i had my rio 500 on ,i unpluged all other so just the rio was pluged in (i have two usb plug ins )i swiched to another usb plug in and still know go.im not a computer programer or any thing like that but it seems to me the sveta rio driver is not beeing recognized just a thought. old_john
