View Full Version : How to ensure PerfectMeta is working?

I've attempted to rip about 20 CD's now, only 10 of which were picked up by PerfectMeta. Even these 10 had no album art! I tried what I thought were more popular artists, like Weezer and Pearl Jam. So it got me thinking ... how can I ensure it's connecting to the correct meta data servers?

Also, how can enter my own information for rare or limited edition CD's?

If you click view log it might show the metadata povider.

It doesn't -- but I know Pearl Jam's Ten CD should show album art.

Again, when a CD isn't found, how can I manually enter in the data?

There's seems to be some issues because it can't find very many CD's, and does not get any album art.

How can I change the naming convention to include album year?
Artist\Year - Album\TrackNumber - Title

Here's the log as you mentioned:

The [MB] means it is coming from MusicBrainz. So something is blocking AMG and GD3, is there any security software on the machine?

Ah yes - I had forgotten I installed PeerGaurdian as a service on the homeserver.

Easily solved, as I whitelisted the IP's listed on the other forum post:
http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?p=79259

166.90.203.0/24
64.92.237.0/24

Or, in human-readable form:

166.90.203.1 thru 166.90.203.255
64.92.237.1 thru 64.92.237.255

Now I'm getting a much higher rate of CD recognition and album art. Thanks Spoon.

Do you know the IP's of the GD3?

if you ping:

Perhaps these domain names and IPs, as well as those for the other metadata sources and accuraterip could be put into the documentation, perhaps in a troubleshooting section?

Hi, Just for your info, i'm using DbPoweramp since two months and I have never seen of my life : Music Brainz.

I don't know, if tags of MB are good quality but never seen it

Only AMG, GD3 & Freebd!

Although this thread is for RipNAS and your post indicates standard dBpoweramp CD Ripper:

Select the drop menu next to Meta button and choose retrieve from >> MusicBrainz to see if it works. MB will not work through a proxy.
