I was wondering, in the complex skin design example, how do you get the half-circle/arcs (that make the full circle) to trace without the jagged pixel edges? I cannot get my skins to appear without the jagged edges.

Spoons examples are all nice and smooth when I load it to look at it. Any graphic that is rectangle or square works, but nothing even slightly resembling any sort of arc. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, Im still at work on my numerous skins...I was sadly disappointed with some of my final results because of the above situation. They work great with r2 beta 4, but they just look bad.

later...:D

That is always a problem, the only way I know is to manually edit the pixels one by one on the edges and cut them back so there are no transition colors.

Thanks for the reply Spoon...after looking at many other skins, including other players, they are all jagged if you look at them close. I guess that is why they post such small previews, so you wont see the edges. later...

The other aspect that has to be considered when not using square/rectangle style skin outlines is, even if you get the angles or arcs to look smooth on your pc, there is no guarantee they will look smooth on someone elses, simply due to their desktop background colour or picture. If you fade the edges to black (as you may have a black background) someone else may have white background, so the edges will be more enhanced / severe.

So the only thing you can try and do is use the edges to your advantage and make them look as they should be part of the skin. For instance my tie fighter skin you will see i left the edges on the inside of the wings larger as if they should be there, and as such the edges on the outside (which are more important) are not as noticable.

Hope that helps
