Great news! I had looked at Ripfactory's Ripserver, but they are clearly not ready for prime time. And perfect match is much better than just using GD3 or Freedb. This is a device I really want. Do you plan to make Multi Encoder work with the RipNAS. I know I could convert after ripping to FLAC, but a nice feature of the Ripserver was the ability to rip to both FLAC and mp3, that way my music will automatically be ready for both my home system (Squeezebox) and my portables. In the mean time, I am waiting anxiously.

It is planned, the exact interaction with setting it up is the bit we have to figure (WHS has a control type program running on a 2nd PC to configure the WHS).
We already have the software that can do the conversion, that is our 'bread and butter' as they say (it would run in the background auto-converting with a the CPU throttled to 33%, leaving the ripping unaffected).

This is one of the things I loved about my ancient RioCentral device. Background transcoding. Of course that ran on an ancient ARM-type CPU, so it was pretty easy to fill the device with WAV files (from the auto-cd-rip function) and you'd have to wait a day or two before they were all transcoded to MP3... :)
