Hi,

Why are the codecs for the Audio Player not updated anymore?
I have read I have to use the legacy codecs for the Audio Player. I need the FLAC codec but it's an old version (FLAC 1.1.2) in the legacy codecs.
So I was wondering why the codecs for Audio Player are not updated anymore??

thx in advance

dAP uses the old codec system that r11.5 and older use, hence it needs the legacy codecs. As stated here, an update is planned for DAP, but it is a ways off: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?p=75350#post75350

Will FLAC files, encoded with the newest FLAC encoder, will play with the legacy codec without problems?

thx

I'm not sure, I think the changes in FLAC as of late have just been optimizing encoding/decoding speeds and haven't changed the spec itself, but I'm not sure.
