Error on rip output

I am using dMC converter and when I try to either rip straight from an audio CD or convert from wma to mp3 I get the following error:The output file 'd:\song name' could not be opened. I haven't installed any other music programs on my pc and it just suddenly started saying this

Any ideas?

Drive D is that the CD?

No d: is the hard drive, the output directory when converting from cd....also tried converting wma file stored in d to mp3 and got same error message

No real ideas, try converting to Wave that will sya if it is the mp3 encoder that cannot write.
