Which part is crashing? I think you need to remove the Rio500 Sveta Driver then try to just detect the 600/800.
The Rio 500 USB driver will blue screen windows if it cannot find the 500, but does find a 600 or 800.

Thanks

That is very odd that it finds D: and C:, I am guessing they are normal hard disks? Normally it will only find any removable drives.

I downloaded the Sveta and also the Rio500 driver. I hear the noise when I plug my Rio500 to the USB to my PC. WIndows XP then tries to install tha hardware, but it fails.
I try using Sveta "Add Device", but my Rio500 does not show-up in the menu (no devices do). Now what???

Windows has to fully recognize the Rio 500 for it to work - are you using hte right USB cable? you might want to look at www.rioworld.org for help.

Yes, I am using the USB cable that I came with my Rio500, and which I have been using for 2 years with RioPort AudioManager software on Windows 98. However, I am now trying to use Sveta b/c RioPort AudioManger does not work for WIndows XP.
Bottom line is that when i go to "Add Device" in Sveta, I don't see anything. I did install the Rio500 driver from your web page.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Check that you have a full battery and the Rio is plugged straight into the computers USB.
For Sveta to work the Rio 500 should appear under USB (as a Rio 500) in windows device manager (Windows Key + Break >> Hardware >> Device Manager).

I went to "Device Manager" and see the Rio500 appear, but it has a yellow question-mark icon next to it. When I select "properties" for it, it shows the problem is that XP doesn't have the driver to run Rio500.
When I go to Sevta "Add Device", I see that I downloaded the Rio500 driver from your website. However, I still am not able to see anything in the "Add Device" selection list. Nothing, including my Rio500, appears in the list.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

You will need an actual system driver as well, download a USB driver from www.rioworld.org
