I am trying to change the destination path for my cd ripping. Changing it using "Set" on the cd ripper "Path" option, it still goes to the old value. I found OutToPath keyword in registry, changed it, and still cd ripper reloads the older destination path. How can I get the path changed? thanks
The Set control used by the Path control should work.
When you tried it and it didn't work, did the path destination setting change in the Path windaw after you used the Set control to change it?
If it did not, could you have forgotten to actually designate the new folder in the Set command (this has happened to me with similarly designed controls)?
Best wishes,
Bill

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, the path window displays the new destination path after I use the Set control. And it stays there through the rip. But it actually ripped to my old destination folder.
When I changed the registry setting and launched cd ripper, the path window displays the new value, but the same behavior - it ripped to the older folder.
After changing the value either way (through set control or registry setting) and after ripping the first cd, when I relaunch, the old path value appears.

OutToPath would be within the profile name (if using Reference) make sure dBpoweramp is able to write to the Registry (delete that value, if it is not recreated then dbpoweramp has no write access).

This is strange. I deleted the value from registry. CD Ripper defaulted to my documents\my music (not one of my choices). I reset the value in cd ripper to my new folder and then exited. The value in registry is the older destination folder! It seems that value is stored somewhere else, and it has write access to the registry.

Go to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Illustrate, right-click on the folder and go to permissions. Click Advanced, uncheck the inherit box, click "Copy", make sure Administrators and your account say "Full Control", check the "Replace" checkbox and then click OK, Yes, OK, then try again.

I followed this precisely. Same behavior. I even tried deleting the value in registry and changing it in registry. The second time I open cd ripper, the value is back to the older values.

What version of Windows? Running as admin?

Try typing into the Rip To text box, type c:\ does it stick?
I remember something similar once to this, on exit (of dBpoweramp) a security program would go and write the old values to the registry.

Typing "c:\" does stick after several loads of cd ripper!
I am running XP SP2, my user has administrator rights.

So if you click 'set' choose a path and Ok, that path does not appear in the box?

When I click set and choose a folder, that folder appears in the path box.
But when I rip it rips to the old folder.
And if I close and re-launch, the old folder appears in the path box.

What is the path you are setting? what happens if you set c:\ through 'set'? does that stick?

You aren't using some form of Windows skinning utility such as Window Blinds are you?

c:\ does "stick" using Set
I do not know what "Windows skinning utility" is, so I am pretty sure I am not using it.
