Squeeze more files on to my Nomad II

I can fit about 24-25 MP3 files that are an average of 3MB each. The Svelta have a way to compact the files as I transfer them on to the unit?

also is there any way to save the playlists that way I can have different types of music i.e. jazz, pop, hip hop, without having to go back and transfer all those files over again?

By playlist you mean on the Nomad, or on the PC?

Once I select a set of songs that I would like to transfer to my Nomad, I would like the ability to save that set similar to like a playlist on the pc. let's say on monday that I have a bunch of jazz songs and then tuesday I remove those songs and put on a bunch of R&B songs. on wednesday I may want to revert back to the jazz songs but then I would have to remember which songs that I had and so forth.

it would be nice to be able to save these playlists that way you can fine tune the lists and revert back when necessary. Nero allows me to do this as an example.m

Install my audio player, then you can right click a bunch of tracks and >> Add to Playlist.
