View Full Version : wma 9.1 options appearing when trying wma v9
I found out my device will only play wma v9 so after installing the converter and wma v9.1 I installed wma v9. When I choose wma v9 in the converter dialog, options for v 9.1 appear. It says "windows media audio 9.1" in codec not "windows media audio 9". I tried uninstalling everything and reinstalling including the registry delete, it keeps coming up as v9.1.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Antoni

Microsoft made it so you cannot roll back WMA installs, 9.1 is on your system now.
Ugh, and of course for security reasons I have system restore turned off. Just perfect.
Thanks anyway

Isn't this like a situation with any pc that doesn't have WMP 10, only has WMP 9 or lower? It will play most wma 9.1 but not optimally.
Have you tried playing them in your device?
I don't know if this helps: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/codecs/audio.aspx

All WMA players can play 9.1 as long as you do not select the Pro selections (wma is designed to be forward compliant).
