If I record an .m4p using dMC Auxiliary Input, will it sound better than the same song ripped from the CD created within iTunes. I know that there is transcoding in that process.

Also, is it possible to record the perfect length as a rip? It takes me about an extra second to start the record then start the music. I think I can stop it on time though. Does anyone else use this process to create mp3s from m4ps? Thank you.

Comparing the m4p to a CD rip encoded with itunes' aac codec.. who knows.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ record, edit, export to wav, encode with DMC
DMC's aux input works, but it's not an audio editor. There is a guide around here someplace for using aux input for doing exactly what you are trying to do. (sorry, no link)
