I'm currently using EAC to rip to .flac and I want to convert those .flac files to Apple Lossless (cause hey, i like itunes) using the dMC codecs at http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central-mp4.htm but they always end up completely erasing any ID3 tag info and just garbling whatever was there in the first place. What do I need to do to convert to Apple Lossless whilst preserving tags? Thanks for any help.

You need the iTunes encoder codec and the top codec on the pages you linked to.

also th m4a decoder codec (that writes the id tags).

So...

http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codecs/dBpowerAMP-codec-mp4.exe
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codecs/dMC-iTunes.exe
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codecs/dMC-AAC-Codec.exe

Should do me? Cause it's not working (the preserve ID3 box is ticked). I'm gonna try one more time. Rip from EAC->FLAC and try to convert those.

*tick, tick, tick*

Hey. It worked. Before, I hadn't downloaded/installed the last link that I posted. Before doing this test, I installed it and everything is a-ok now. Thanks!!!

Also, to get this lossless compressor, did you guys have to license it from Apple?

The ALAC compressor just uses iTunes to encode, so there is no need to license anything. Also, you only need the AAC codec if you plan to make .aac files. You don't need it to make ALAC files.
