re: Sveta Portable New Release

I had your previuos version of Sveta using a rio 800. I just upgraded to

your new version beta 6. My computer doesn't seem to find the rio 800. I

downloaded the Windows Device Manager Sveta driver. I also have a rio
500. It seems to install the rio 500 okay. Please let me know how to get

the Rio 800 to show up as a device. My rio 800 works okay with
Musicmatch and it shows up as a valid usb driver under my systems
properties.

Two Things:

Grab the official Release 2 of SPA, SPA R2 is out of beta. There were some reports of the Rio 500 driver clashing with some/any other SPA device driver.
When installing a new version of SPA, remove your device/s from the add device menu then uninstall SPA, reinstall it and then readd your devices.

Try this:

Uninstall the old beta (as well as seperate Sveta drivers), then install the official Release 2, next install the WDM driver, do not install the Rio 500 at this time.

Next unplug as many USB devices as you can (including the Rio 500), plug the Rio 800 into the actual USB connector on the computer. Run Sveta Add devices, click on 'Advanced' if WDM is installed it will have 'Windows Device Manager' listed if it is installed. Then try to add the 800.

I did what you said. I am still having a problem. Every time I hit the add device button my computer freezes up. Under the advanced settings the windows device manager sveta driver is showing up. My Rio 800 is showing up under Device Manager under usb. My Rio 800 also works fine using musicmatch and windows media player.

After it freezes your computer, reboot then have a look at C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpowerAMP\Sveta-log.txt - post everything that is in this file here.

i have my rio 600, 500, and 800 i wanted to check it out however :( it didnt work i got to the add device but it freezes everytime. i have the 500 connected like it says but nope it freezes up everytime then i ultimately get teh blue scren of death then i got to see that ugly blue screen saying i didnt power down properly. what is a way to get it to work?

Exactly the same problem with a Rio 600. Running Windows 98 SE, "Add device" just freezes. The Rio works fine in Rio Aduio Manager and Windows Media Player...

I have updated the WDM Driver, please visit the Sveta page to re-download. Also make sure you have installed the RioPort software that came with your Rio600/800s.

Ok I have looked into it and it seems to be a issue with Windows 95/98/ME - I will investigate further and post a fix ASAP. For now tose having difficulties can uninstall Release 2 and go back to Release 1:

I have updated Sveta, it now works on my Windows 98 machine, so please try it. Frist uninstall the previous Sveta r2 and the WDM driver, then re-download the updated installs (on dbpoweramp.com) on the sveta page, and install.

I think it is the Rio 500 driver that is freezing yours, soyes uninstall everything (Sveta + WDM + R500 Driver) then install just Sveta and the WDM - see if you can add the 800 and 600.

However, I have a 30GB Jukebox. It is running very well with JBCommander.
